This antique Edwardian suffragette pendant has been lovingly crafted around a central approx. 0.50ct Amethyst, with an approx. 0.75ct teardrop cut Peridot hanging beneath. 9ct Yellow Gold has been crafted into slender, curved motifs that splay outwards, and are adorned with an array of bright, lustrous pearls.
Suffragette jewellery was worn to show one’s allegiance to the women’s Suffragette movement in the early 20th century and popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which carried the message: Green for Give, white for Women and violet for Votes!
This is a beautiful exemplar of the jewellery crafted during the struggle for women’s rights, and a wonderful talking point steeped in history.
